Olio Cafe @ City Square Mall
Crayfish and crab claw sambal pasta and Portobello burger. The pasta is wonderful even if the freshness of the seafood is suspect. The sauce is wonderful. Must try at Olio. The burger was forgettable I guess … the carnivore inside me says there’s only so much you can do if you can’t use meat. What was interesting was that they served it with sweet potato chips rather than good ole potato. There was also a rather tasty potato soup of the day, which made the meal not too bad. Add in the sweetener of 1-for-1 main course courtesy credit card it was alright.
Even though the traffic to and fro City Square Mall was horrible. It’s a pretty nice place but go only if you are taking the train.

I walked across the causeway last week thinking that the weather was perfect, only to be stopped at the halfway mark by a malaysian No Pedestrian sign that turned me backwards to the Singaporean customs. On my way back I picked up an American called Robert who wanted to do the same thing as i DID, and he was convinced enough to follow me back to the Singapore side where we met the Singapore Customs officer who suggested, our Singapore side is quite okay one, it is the Malaysia side that always got problem with this and that, and they want to fine u if you don’t obey their rules and jaywalk. And then back there and then when we arrived at the Singapore Arrival hall the customs treated us like criminals including the American bloke, because like the malay customs lady said, “NO Malaysian STAMP! NO Malaysian STAMP!” and sent us upstairs to the Customs office for interrogation. After I raised my voice and broke a few hearts, and the American Robert agreed in consensus, then the police guy asked if we still wanted to enter Malaysia, we said yes, then he ordered his subordinate an indian lady to escort us to the Departure Hall where we took bus 950 across.
Oh btw, the new Malaysian CIQ is damn big.
