Island Creamery

Great world has at last count at least 5 different places selling ice creams and that’s not counting Macdonalds. Of course Ben & Jerry is the best but also very expensive. Island Creamery is a cheaper alternative, a cone there is half the price of one from B&J. They also have tantalizing local flavours like pulut hitam, teh peng, horlicks and tiger sorbet – made with tiger beer of course.
Sounds great but after you tasted it, it’s a little lack-luster, not unlike the bad photo below. You can taste the beer, although it doesn’t feel alcoholic, but otherwise the sorbet doesn’t have much flavour. I’ve always fancied those tangy lime sherbet type of sorbet. Plus, it feels expensive to pay $11 for a tub of light sorbet, when you could have heavy duty ice-cream loaded with choc full of ingredients. Their non-alcoholic ones are $8 a tub. But I guess one should just stick to cones from this stall and pints from B&J.
